Though theCommunication Arts site is often thought of as a resource for the designer, it provides the discerning client with inspirational ideas to set his/her site apart.

This month, instead of focusing on design pitfalls, we thought we'd applaud a simple but smart new trend in good usability. The suite of Williams-Sonoma group sites, which includes Pottery Barn, in recognition of the overlap between the number of people on high-bandwidth connections with those who shop online, offers an alternative display for results which appear on more than one page - the 'View All.' Rather than having to scroll through pages of results, visitors can click 'view all' and see all of the results on one page. Two thumbs up for acknowledging the increase of the high-bandwidth consumer.
